Later today we will embark on the first week-long vacation with the entire family. Minivan…check, food…check, diapers…check, camera…check, bicycles…check, luggage…check, cell phone chargers…check, laptop & charger…check…portable hard drive…check, SD card reader…check, extra SD cards…check….
We are heading to Pinetop. Is it on the GPS? Better bring a map! Do they have WiFi at the hotel? What about cell phone coverage? Ummmmm…do they have cable TV? Should I bring a DVD player?
I know nothing about Pinetop, my wife did all the research and said it’ll be a fun, outdoorsy adventure. “The cabins have plumbing, right?” (just kidding)
As you might have noticed, my idea of outdoorsy fun is heading to the mailbox! Much prefer my dark cave-like home office with the soft glow of LCD monitors. How are we going to have fun without technology? Hmmmmm….maybe that’s why she chose it! I suppose I will have to adapt. And quickly since we’re leaving in a few hours! Should be good for a lot of pics! And since I am bringing the tech, I’ll post from the road!
I will have to borrow the attitude of the most famous vacationer…
“This is no longer a vacation. It’s a quest. It’s a quest for fun. I’m gonna have fun and you’re gonna have fun. We’re all gonna have so much fun we’ll need plastic surgeory to remove our smiles.” – Clark Griswold

Update…after 36 miles, we made a stop for a potty break. There was only a bush available! I can officially say two boys are POTTY TRAINED! Wooohooooo! Should make the trip easier. We are now at the Roundhouse Resort which is really nice. More from the road later!
Day 2 and after walking around a local lake, the boys were exhausted…EXCEPT TYLER!!!! As I type this at 8:45pm, he is wilder than I’ve ever seen him and he only took a 30 minute nap around noon! The other two were out at 7:30pm.
Boys (big and little) LOVE go carts. We’ll be going back tonight…after feeding ducks and more racquetball & basketball.
